Summary : "Climates"

EQUATORIAL:
We can found equatorial climate inthe Equator 5º N/S. Equatorial areas have annual rainfall totals in excess of  200mm and 250mm, mainly from thunderstorms, these storms are due to the convergence of warm air. The warm air is forced to rise, creating an area of low pressure and giving heavy rain .  Winds are generally light and variable. This climate is characterized by his hot,wet ah humid weather, a lack of seasonal change and a daily weather pattern. In the daili pattern, one day is very much like the other. The high temperatures cause air to rise. The rising air, wichis very moist due to rapid evapotranspiration from swamps, rivers and the rainforest vegetation cools on reaching higher altitudes. Nights are warm (23ºC) and very humid.

TROPICAL CONTINENTAL:
This climates are found in central parts of continents, mainly between latitudes 5º and 15º north and south of the Equator. The characteristics of this are alternative wet and dryseasons, high temperatures average temperatures are 31ºC and annual range of temperatures of 8ºC. The annual precipitation is 950mm, but there are two seasons the first one is hot and wet, and the second one is warm and dry.

MOONSOON:
Moonsoon means "season". It`s located in the south-east Asia. There are two seasons, South-west moonsoon; the sun appear to be overhead at the Tropic of Cancer in June. Hot air rises, an extensive area of low pressure is formed and warm . Where the air is forced to rise over mountains, it gives large amounts of relief rainfall. And the north-east moonsoon; during the northern winter, the overhead sun moves southwards, also they are dry and cold seasons.

HOT DESSERTS:
Hot desserts are places with high annual temperatures , less than 250mm of rain a yaer. They are located on the west coast of continenets, in the subtropical high pressure belt, and between 5º and 30º north and south of the Equator.   Deserts are very dry, the reasons are:

  1. prevailing winds blow from the dry areas (land)
  2. winds have to cross mountains
  3. warm air from the Equator has become colder in high latitudes and descendsin these areas.
  4. windsthat blow the sea are cold and bring no moisture.

COLD CLIMATE:
The cold climate is found to the poleward side of 60¤N (or more) in Eurasia, Scandinavia, Ryssia, North America, Alaska and Canada. Winters are very long , dark and extremely cold. Summers are short but relatively warm for the latitude. Precipitation is ligth, the air is too cold to hold much moisture, most places are long way from any rain-bearing winds from the sea. The summer maximum results occurs when temperatures are at their highest.

  1. Good job, Vicky but please check language and printing mistakes. Then, you don´t mention why there are two seasons in the tropical continental climate. Also, the influence of the wind direction in the monsoon climate is not mentioned.
